Senior Biologist
Donna is a senior fisheries biologist with more than 20 years’ experience conducting fish sampling in estuarine and riverine ecosystems.

Donna has over 20 years of experience conducting fish sampling in estuarine and riverine ecosystems and analyzing the impact of infrastructure projects. Her expertise is in salmonid life history and habitat requirements, fisheries impact assessment, and fish population surveys. She plans and carries out field research and monitors studies to evaluate the seasonal distribution, abundance, and movements of native fish species.

Donna employs various fish survey techniques, including seining, purse seining, electrofishing, snorkeling, fyke netting, and otter trawling. She also collects water, chlorophyll A, mysid, and plankton samples. Donna reviews literature, organizes research, collects and analyzes data, and prepares reports summarizing results.

Working in the field on special-status plant surveys, Donna assesses plant survival on mitigation projects and maps invasive weeds. California Rapid Assessment Method certified, she evaluates riverine and estuarine systems.

A construction monitor, Donna guides contractors during construction to ensure they follow permit conditions and identify and protect special biological resources. She also manages projects, which include document writing and fieldwork.
